Hello, Im Greg Wendt, owner and operator at Wendt Electric. I started my electrical path over 20 years ago as a means to provide for my growing family. I married my wife Traci in 1996. When we met we both already had children, she had our oldest son, Max, and I had our middle son Ben. Not long after getting married we found out we were going to be having another child, Austin, our youngest. It was then when I knew I needed a career that could not only provide for my family, but would always have a demand. Thats when I landed on the idea of becoming and electrician. I attended night classes at Hillyard Vocational School in St. Joseph, Mo. I finished class and started my electrical career shortly after our youngest was born in 1997. I worked for Current Services from 1997 to 2006, and Joe Killowatt from 2006 to 2016. In 2016 I decided I needed a change of pace, and went to work at Best Lighting in Gladstone, Mo.
My Story
In 2002 I started doing my own work on the side in Cameron, Mo and the surrounding towns. I started doing this not only for the additional income, but so that I could have my boys with me and teach them a skill that will always be needed, and the value of hard work. Over the years my “side work” as I called it became busier and busier, so in 2018 I decided to go out own my own completely and launch Wendt Electric. I have poured my heart and soul into this company over the years teaching my boys not only about electrical, but also the value of a hard days work. My family is the most important thing to me, so thats why I strive every day to make our customers here at Wendt Electric feel like another member of my family.
